Major New Additions Coming to Universal Orlando
If speculations and references are to be believed then we have a much bigger Universal Orlando in near future. There are some major new additions and attractions coming to Universal Orlando Resort. First it’s the most speculated idea of a fourth theme park and now a new Pokémon park. With reference to anonymous Universal sources and a Theme Park University blogger, WFTV revealed that the new Pokémon Park is indeed coming to the Resort. Thanks to the never-ending arms race between Universal and Disney World parks. Coz it’s the constant urge for getting bigger and better that triggers the creation of newer and more immersive family fun experiences. The Pokémon Park is coming to Universal Orlando soon. Pokémon is seen as a perfect opportunity for Universal to strengthen its ability to attract even bigger crowd now. Pokémon Franchise (that includes the video game, TV show and its different media versions) has been ruling the hearts of millions for generations. The popular video game franchise is said to be located at the Universal’s Kid-Zone section. It will share the same neighborhood with Woody Woodpecker and Barney. Also according to sources, the Kid-Zone area is originally slated to be home to a Mario Kart and a Donkey Kong roller coaster. But now the respective attractions will have the fourth Universal Orlando Park as their new home. Along with a fourth theme park and Pokémon there will be a Nintendo themed park as well. Nintendo is going to be one of the many themed lands to be built at the new 400 acre Universal property (the so-called fourth theme park). Nintendo holds the trademark for Pokémon. And the inclusion of a new Pokémon theme park in an existing Universal Studios theme park is cited as the Resort’s plan to distribute Nintendo out to all the Universal properties, similar to the Harry Potter world. At present Universal is involved in a lawsuit with the former owner of the property. Universal had acquired the hundreds of acres property in 2015. However, the former owner argues that he still holds rights to enforce private deed restrictions, and that includes a ban of theme parks. The lawsuit is expected to take a year to resolve. For Universal fans it’s mostly a waiting game for now. Of course we have the Fast and Furious – Supercharged ride is opening this spring itself. Followed by the Aventura Hotel, opening in August this year. Moreover, there is a new Harry Potter roller coaster ride opening in 2019 at Islands of Adventure. Pokémon is expected to open by 2020. The Super Nintendo World is set to open first in Japan and Hollywood, followed by Orlando in 2023. If you are a Florida resident and planning to visit Universal Parks on or before June 28, 2018, you can save some more on your universal studios tickets. The Resort is offering the locals a sweet ticket deal, which is available on sale until April 30, 2018. Residents can buy a pack of four tickets for $165 (for single park passes) or choose to have a $205 (for a two park passes). And the more exciting part is you don’t have to use it on consecutive days. Article Source:DisneyVisitorBlog.com

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Is the Merriest Christmas Party Ever
Magic Kingdom couldn't get any more special than at the Christmastime when the entire park receives the most stunning holiday treatment of the season. For holiday revellers it's a winter wonderland out there, complete with seasonal decors and delicacies, breath-taking shows, including parades, fireworks and much more. Premier Christmas event - The Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is one of the biggest draws of the hour. Hosted by the most magical park of the Disney Orlando Resort, this hard - ticket after - hours holiday party promises a Christmas experience nowhere to be found.
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is not just about Santa and his wonderful wish list only, it's an epic festive offering where you celebrate the traditional story of Christmas with world class shows and attractions. Whether it's the spectacular fireworks display "Holiday Wishes" or the popular parade show "Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade", the impressive castle projection or the amazing sights and areas down the Main Street USA, you will have the best of all things Disney at the Party. Truly, a visit to the event will changed the definition of merry - making altogether.
However, Christmas is also the busiest time of the year and the crowd is real big at the parks. So if you are planning to visit the Party, it's better to know few important things before you go. First, the entrance time can make a big difference to your otherwise a very busy evening. The party officially starts at 7pm, but Magic Kingdom allows guests to enter the park as early as 4pm as well. No need to buy an extra Magic Kingdom ticket for that, the special event-ticket is sufficient for the early entry, from 4pm onwards until the event ends.
The popular Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is quite a busy attraction you don't want to miss. But don't forget that this one-of-a-kind parade show has two performances. One at 8:30pm and the second at 11:00 pm. It's often seen that the 8:30 performance is busier than the 11:00pm show. So you have options to plan accordingly. May be you want to skip the busiest one and go enjoy some of those magical Disney rides for the evening and then come back and join the 11:00pm show. Again the Fireworks display is another must see attraction at the Event. It starts at 10:00pm and crowd is bigger here too. So better to grab your favourite spot half-an-hour earlier.
Walking down Main Street USA during the Party is an awesome experience. Imagine those breath-taking locations as you pass by. It's an entire winter wonderland out there, packed with amazing Christmas decors, including the trees, wreaths and snow. Don't forget to take your most magical snap on the occasion.

Intellectual Property Plays An Important Role In The Making Of A Great Themed Attraction
Intellectual Property - IP from a popular motion picture, or TV Show, cartoon or a comic story plays a major role in the making of a great themed attraction today. Whether it's the ever - popular Harry Potter world at Universal Orlando or the Star Wars attractions at Disney World, the response to such an IP based attraction is quite extraordinary. Survey reports also revealed that IP infused attractions are crucial to ensure better performances in terms of theme park attendance, including return visits and the overall spending levels. According to the 2015 Thinkwell Experience Report, over 70 per cent of the respondents have shown their interest and willingness to visit and experience a family entertainment venue that offers IP based attractions. The Report further revealed that over 60 per cent of the responding participants would also love to spend more on foods and merchandises that are associated with an IP brand.
While IP seems to be the biggest determiner of modern - day theme park performances, there are others in terms of creative inputs to consider as well. IP offers the much-needed advantage for sure, but there are experts in the field who think that designers and creative teams cannot just count of IP alone in the creation of such amazing themed attractions. Over the past few years discussions on the use of IP in attractions often led to many important conclusions. For reference, at the 2017 IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) Expo, we have seen leading designers and experts threw light on this in their various capacity.
One of the most notable point that came out during the discussion is that designers should be well aware of the fact that a successful IP - one which is doing great as a motion picture or TV show, may not make a successful themed attraction. As such it's important for the respective designers and creative teams to know which one will click and which not prior to choosing a particular IP. There are IPs that do great in the movies, but a theme park version of it may not be a great idea.
Moreover, finalizing and using a particular IP does not mean everything. It's not just taking the creative work and using it for another version. As pointed by experts, it's the essence behind the success of the story that matters. It's about understanding and knowing the core efforts - specially the DNA of the creative work that led to its success. Also what theme park offers is mostly about direct experiences. It's not like dealing only with the character-based side of the story as we see in the movies. Great themed attractions are built for the guests. And it's the guests and their experiences inside the story that determines the real success.

Theme Parks Are Sensitive to National Tragedies Too
Theme Parks are the greatest source of fun and entertainment in life. No other places in the world can re-create such amazing experiences. Their biggest asset is creativity, and perhaps I think there is hardly a sight or area within the parks that are left without the creative aspect. Creativity is the last thing that they want to part with. While it seems they are willing to sacrifice anything for their uniquely creative offerings, they are sensitive to national tragedies as well. When tragedies strike the Nation, such as the Las Vegas Shooting in this case, the parks have the courage to change their most popular experiences too. At Universal Orlando it's the Nation's premier Halloween Event that makes the most notable move. Not that the Park is shutting down its most happening event (Halloween Horror Nights Fest) all together, but it shows some sensible solidarity by striking out a major chunk of the content from the popular show - Bill and Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure at the 2017 event.
The 2017 Bill & Ted show is set on a mega festive platform where the two boys put up an epic festive show. But the Grim Reaper is prompted to kill everyone at the festival. An epic Halloween adventure follows with the host Bill and Ted go at length to save pop culture and the audience. But after the Las Vegas tragedy, the Show has a different story to consider. Instead of the multi-day mega festival it's just a simple concert featuring the Wyld Stallyions. And the Grim Reaper is no more a threat to pop culture or the audience. He is only after the two boys after all.
Though the Show is not alien to changes before. But the change that follows the Tragedy is the biggest of them all in the history of the Show. For die-hard fans, it may be difficult to digest. I think an abrupt twist or tweak to the concept definitely ends up with an experience not as anticipated. There are cases, where change in storyline triggers a new experience altogether. But in Bill and Ted's case, probably the excitement and fun suffers to a certain extent. But then it's for a cause and Universal Orlando is sensitive to larger situations. The resort is good in giving away one of its best offerings. Truly, it shows its direct response to a greater suffering at a time when the Nation is hit by a tragedy leaving behind 59 dead and nearly 500 injured.

Even the Happiest Places Surrender to Natural Disaster
The excitement of an upcoming theme park vacation is quite unique by nature. It's something that is never felt before. Something that keeps building up until the day we actually visit the favourite parks. And in most cases, chances are we often ends up with a memorable experience unlike any other. However, there are instances when the weather god plays spoil-sport, pouring cold water to our plans and anticipations. Not that the theme parks are reluctant to take quality preventive measures for the guests, but it's the nature of the unpredictable weather that makes things too difficult for vacationers. Whether it's the advent of a sudden rainstorm or an un-bearable warm spell, the change will have a direct impact on your vacation for sure.
It's hard to imagine even the happiest and most magical places can succumbed to the natural forces. Like many others, the Central Florida theme parks are not strangers to natural compulsions and attacks. In fact the parks had seen situations that had compelled guests to cancel or postpone their most anticipated vacation plans in the past and probably in the future as well. Yes, I feel sad to know that guests are left stranded with unfulfilled dreams. When the pre-vacation homework is done and when you are so close to the day of your actual trip, the news of a bad weather is the last thing you don't want to hear. Worst still, a natural disaster like the Hurricane is a complete setback in this regard. The sunshine state is a victim of the wild coastal wind in the past, including the tropical storm Fay that had kept the parks soaking for days along with the rest of the areas in the State.
The September 2017 disaster is a major setback in the history of theme parks. Hurricane Irma - a category 4 storm with wind speed of about 150 miles per hour hits Florida leaving millions powerless. Several vacations were halted and plans rescheduled, dreams fall apart. Hurricane Irma takes the biggest toll at a time when the Parks are having the best of fall festivities and events such as the Disney World's Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, or the Nation's premier Halloween Event - The Halloween Horror Nights Fest at Universal Orlando and other popular Halloween events at SeaWorld and Busch Gardens.
We are all passionate about the theme parks and Resorts here in Orlando, Florida. They are the most impeccable renderings of our dreams and imaginations. They are the sources to some of the most memorable and extraordinary moments of our life. And I believe they will continue to entertain us no matter how big or how devastating a disaster seems to be. Hurricane Irma did hit the theme park resort area. But it seems the impact is limited to a few downed trees and power lines, else the parks are all good.

What Makes Universal's Halloween So Intensive?
Fear fans might have come across many scary experiences in life. But perhaps few would match the spine-chilling encounters that Universal Orlando Halloween has to offer. Every year, during the HHN (Halloween Horror Nights) fest, the Resort greets you with an impressive array of horror attractions. The specially designed haunted houses here are the scariest incarnations of the evil that one can have. From the biggest names in horror to the most disturbing and scary offerings, here you can go screaming through the most unexpected faces of terror. You might have left the Park after attending one of the favourite fright nights, but the fear will keep haunting you long after the last scream was heard.
Universal's HHN Fest is the Nation's premier Halloween event. Aimed at providing the best of horrors since inception. No other event of its kind treats terror like it does. Intended for guests of ages 13 and above, the popular fall event transforms the night into a hair-raising and blood-curdling adventure. If you are one of those guests with a faint heart, it's better to stay away from such an intense situation. Or you can take your time building up the courage, prepare and plan to survive the terror well ahead of the actual visit.
HHN Fest is where fears rule the roost. It's where your worst nightmares can come true. Imagine the scenes from your favourite horror films and TV series. Imagine those inevitable pains and tortures by the most terrifying, wicked and evil characters, including the legendary slashers and others. And now imagine you being subjected through all these in real-time. Whether it's inside one of those most elaborately designed haunted mazes or outside in the streets of the Resort, in some unexpected scare zones, the outrageous live shows or the encounters with iconic figures of terror, you cannot escape that inevitable scream.
There is so much to scare you out there that even the bravest of the guests will find it hard to resist the screams. And why not, HHN is one of the most exciting annually held projects for Universal. The creators have spent months, planning in detail and executing new ideas to scare you year after year. They leave no stone unturned, and the result is a series of fright nights with incredible collection of world-class haunted houses and scare zones, including live shows and more. And not to forget it's backed by an ever-increasing fan base. Also, every year the scary element gets scarier and to survive a night at the Event gets even more tough.
Visitors must know that HHN is a separate ticketed event. It's not included in the regular Universal admissions. There are different types of tickets available at different prices for the Event as well. You can go for tickets with fixed dates, or buy a flex ticket that allows you to visit on any select date you prefer. If a single night of Horror is not enough for you, then there also available Fear passes that provide access to multiple nights of horrors. For more information on upcoming HHN Event and updates on tickets you can logon to halloweenhorrornights.com. Last but not the least, you can always save some more on tickets when buy in advance.

Discounted Theme Park Tickets - Where to Buy Them
For the returning guests and fans who keep visiting their favourite parks, probably finding a good ticket deal is not a big deal. But for the first time visitors the same is not true. There are plenty of ticket sellers, agents and brokers out there offering various discounts and deals on admissions to theme parks and resorts in and around central Florida. But choosing the right ticket source for the best deals and offers on admissions is often a difficult task for first timers. One have to do some research first.
In our quest for the right discounted ticket offers, we have different views and different answers to deal with every day. But one thing we must be sure that whatever we are getting and from wherever we are buying it - everything should be authentic and genuine in all respects. First, buying tickets at the park gates is normal, but then you have to pay a high price. Also there is no discount on tickets available for you here and worst still, you will waste time waiting in line and buying the same.
Moreover, buying used tickets or second-hand tickets is a big no. Sites such as Craigslist and eBay often sell these kind of fake tickets on heavy discounts, but they will land you in trouble. You cannot take advantage of the unused days from someone else's ticket. The parks and resorts here used advance scanning systems and it won't be possible for you to cheat on those high-end technological brilliance. So better for us to avoid buying such tickets, else have to come across situations that we would never wanted to face during our most memorable vacations ever.
Now the question is - where to find the right place for authentic and discounted offers. And the answer could be many, starting with the official websites operated by the parks themselves. It's to be noted that an advance online booking is a great idea to avail discounts. Secondly, the authorized ticket resellers can be a better choice for discounts. These resellers buy tickets in bulk from the respective resorts and re-sell them at great discounts. Third, local Florida residents can enjoy special discounts on tickets and annual passes as well. Also one should know that the one day admission prices may vary on various occasions during the year. And as such an advance booking is a better idea for guests visiting the Disney World Resort or Universal Orlando for that matter.
Normally, at the outset you will start well by visiting the parks' official sites to find out the latest tickets available and their official prices as well. Then look out for the re-sellers and compare the prices on respective ticket or tickets. And often you will have a convincing and affordable discounted deal to shop for. The resorts also offer exclusive, value-for-money vacation packages, featuring both the park tickets and hotel stay and other special perks for the resort guests. But an off-site stay without the perks and on-site convenience is cheaper option specially, if you are on a tight budget.

RIDING A BANSHEE AT DISNEY WORLD’S PANDORA IS TRULY MAGICAL
Your visit to Pandora: The World of Avatar is never complete without a ride on the back of a banshee. The Banshee Ride or the Avatar Flight of Passage is the most thrilling adventure ride that the Disney World’s New Avatar Themed Land has to offer. Just like the entire themed area, the ride and its background story too flaunts the familiar magical touch akin to all things Disney. One can easily see and sense the amount of creativity, detailing and technological brilliance that goes into the making of this one of a kind thrill. Truly the Disney Imagineers had given their best in designing and instilling life to another most exciting immersive adventure of the time.
The Avatar Flight of Passage is one of the two ride attractions the new Land has to offer. The experience is unique, taking you further into the story. It all starts with you being part of a long queue, passing through wild nature, including plants, waterfalls and painted caves. You go past an old but partly renovated Resources Development Administration lab. You will also come across a 10-foot tall blue – skinned native of Pandora as well.
Before the actual ride takes place, guests have to go through two video pre-shows. The first one with a scientist who makes the guests stand in lines for the scanning and matching with an avatar. The second one also with a scientist who is examining the endangered banshee, and who explains you about the sacred ritual of the tall blue natives before riding the banshee, namely Ikran.
Following the video pre-shows, you take your seat on the back of your banshee. The safety restraints were activated and you are safely locked from behind with your 3D specs on. And lo and behold your faces morphed into your avatars and the entire world of Pandora is right there in front of you to touch, feel and explore like never before.
Disney’s Pandora is not just about banshee ride only. It’s a whole new land with bioluminescent plants, floating mountains, a boat ride, a storefront and a restaurant with extra-terrestrial menus, and much more, all inspired from the film. Moreover, it’s a different feel with the glowing plants at nights. One should experience Pandora – both during the day and at night to enjoy the unique feelings.
Both Pandora rides have long waits. Guests can use their Fastpass+ reservation option to cut the wait times from hours to few minutes. Arriving at the Park early, before it opens also help skip the growing crowd. But then make sure that there is no ‘Extra Magic Hours’ scheduled on that day. Unless you are a Disney Resort guest it’s better to avoid the day with Extra Magic Hours. You can try save some more on your park admissions by booking your discount disney tickets online, in advance from authorized ticket sellers like Officialticketcenter.com.

There's a Lot to Like About DisneyQuest
Disney had given up DisneyQuest for the new NBA Experience. But the sweet memories of this first ever VR (Virtual Reality) attraction by the company will never cease to exist. The one of a kind indoor interactive attraction stood witnessed to an era of unforgettable gaming experiences in the history of virtual reality. Conceived and built as part of the plan to create a new kind of indoor interactive theme park attraction, DisneyQuest was loaded with an array of never-before gaming experiences.
For the first time ever DisneyQuest guests had the opportunity to get acquainted with the power of cutting-edge computer graphics, including simulator platforms, head-mounted displays and other unique entertainment offerings based on the immersive technology. Popular attractions include the design-your-own-roller-coaster ride, Virtual Jungle Cruise, CyberSpace Mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for Buccaneer Gold. The list also includes Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride - the longest continuously operated VR attractions in the industry's history, and the Mighty Ducks Pinball Slam. The Facility offered many other arcade video games as well.
DisneyQuest was one of the most exciting projects of its kind. It was a part of the once planned - worldwide chain of 20 VR centres. But only the Orlando attraction had lived up to the expectations. The unique attraction received a warm welcome when first opened in 1998, in Disney World's Downtown Disney area now Disney Springs. And for Orlando locals and other holiday-makers the site proved to be a favourite all-weather entertainment venue. Imagine the huge five - story arcade with a whole range of video and virtual games. Imagine a place that allows you to play games all day long for a one-time fee. Truly, a favourite fun destination that had ruled imaginations across all ages. Moreover, its inclusion as an add-on to park tickets often ended up pulling more visitors with time.
However, lack of new plans and re-investments had led to the downfall. The popular facility started losing its charm and support. Things begun to look old and dated and there is no such actions and effort from the management side to revive the age-old glory. Major VR attractions were closed one after another. And finally, the entire facility closes on July 2, 2017.
The new NBA Experience that replaces DisneyQuest is a unique basketball-based attraction, aimed at offering the most immersive NBA experience. It puts you right in the middle of an NBA game action. Here guests will come across immersive video productions, interactive experiences and a retail outlet and a restaurant as well.

It's Hard to Imagine Ending a Day at Magic Kingdom Without 'Wishes' Fireworks
The fireworks show - Wishes is one of the most breath-taking night-time experiences that Magic Kingdom Park of Walt Disney World Resort has to offer. It's the star of the evening and a big-time fan favourite as well. Throughout the fourteen long years of its incredibly successful existence, Wishes has been an important part of the overall Disney experience. Debuted in 2003, this favourite castle projection show offers the most impressive settings to celebrate and wind up your most memorable Disney trip for the day. Whishes' popularity is such that nobody wants to say good-bye to the Park without visiting this one of a kind Magic Kingdom night-time event.
Fireworks has been an inseparable part of Walt Disney World since inception. Over the years, with so many changes and upgrades it evolves into a major night-time experience that we don't want to miss. Without seeing the fireworks it seems the day at the park is incomplete. And undoubtedly Wishes is one of the finest offerings in this regards. It has all the ingredients of an amazing Disney tradition that will never cease to exist. Whether it's the fantasy flight of Tinkerbell from the castle every night or the amazing themes, songs and characters, the larger than the Park fireworks display or the state-of-the-art performances every night, Wishes brings together the best kept fantasies that Disney World has to offer.
However, like its predecessor - Fantasy in the Sky, Wishes too is followed with a new and most anticipated successor - Happily Ever After. The new fireworks show replaces Wishes starting May 12, 2017. The new Show inspires guests to experience their happiest dreams ever, featuring latest projection mapping technology, including original animations and a great theme song. Packed with many new characters and moments from favourite Disney stories such as Brave, Big Hero 6, Moana, Zootopia, Aladdin, Princess & The Frog and more, the new show takes the night-time experience to next level.
The Happily Ever After is truly a dream come true offer for those who are serious about productions going up behind the Castle. But for the Wishes loyal the advent of this new night-time show leads to many fond memories. There are fans who thinks nothing can replaces the Wishes, while there are others who thinks end of Wishes is end of an era. The Show is so deeply connected for some that it brings to life their most memorable Disney moments from childhood. For some the Show is a sweet reminder of their most favourite family moments. Again for some Wishes is the highlight of the entire trip, while for others a Disney trip is just an excuse to watch the Wishes.

Virtual Lines Set the Way to a New Queue-Less Experience at Universal Orlando
Had there been no ride-lines, there would have been no waiting times. And the experience with your favourite ride adventure gets even more special. You don't have to miss the fun even for a fraction. But the same seems un-true with the long queues acting as major hurdles. In fact the queues are the reasons of disappointments, forcing every ride enthusiast think twice before planning their next trip to the world - famous theme park resorts in Orlando, Florida. Not just they are time - consuming, the ride lines take away a major chunk of your most valuable fun moments as well. And during peak seasons the sights only worsen.
However, there are ways to make the queue even more convenient, quicker and entertaining for the guests. The availability of advance ride reservation systems such as the FastPass or Express Pass program and others by Disney and Universal have contributed a lot in lessening the waiting woes. Though the queues still exist, you have the alternatives to skip them. Truly, the use of ride-time reservation options definitely takes the queue experience to next level. Thanks to all the unique efforts on part of the parks. We appreciate their incessant endeavours, they are good at addressing the queue issue.
The concept of Virtual Lines and its evolution is one of the most interesting developments in this regard. Virtual Lines have inspired new queue ideas that can change the experiences altogether. Universal Orlando is smart enough in grabbing the opportunities, instilling new life to the concept. Instead of skipping the ride-line, the Resort has gone at length to eliminate the queue itself. Universal brings a complete transformation in deed. With its new approaches to Virtual Lines, the Resort is offering a queue-less experience in true sense. There are no queues for guests visiting the new Universal ride attraction such as - The Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon ride or the Volcano Bay water park for that matter.
Universal's guests don't have to wait in lines. Staring at someone's backs while slowly moving towards the ride is history for them. They have the options of exploring other areas of the park or enjoy live entertainments instead. For example fans at Jimmy Fallon ride can sit and relax listening to a racy number until it's time for the ride. At the Volcano Bay water park it's the TapuTapu wearable device that make things even more exciting for park lovers. All that is required is just a tap on the device and you are in for a virtual queue experience. The wristband alerts you when your turn comes.
